This project aims to examine the arrival of people classified as Liberated African children in the countries of Sierra Leone, Brazil, and Cuba between 1808 and 1864.
By looking at how the conditions of the trans-Atlantic slave trade changed the number of children enslaved during the nineteenth century, and proposing a comparative analysis, the project intends to explore the different experiences of the groups in each respective country.
